Wind Energy Can Keep American Lights On: AWEA

Comrent is providing solutions for mission-critical power testing infrastructure.

The American Wind Energy Association (AWEA) released a new report yesterday which reveals how adding wind power to the US electricity grid can help the country cut carbon pollution while still keeping the lights on.

AWEA CEO Tom Kiernan revealed, “Americans want energy security, clean air, and a more reliable energy system […] Diversifying our energy mix with wind helps us achieve all of these goals at once.”

The report specified how wind energy helps to build a more reliable and balanced electricity portfolio and also answers many of grid operators’ questions about their experiences as it relates to successfully integrating wind energy into the existing grid.

Comrent helps to keep the lights on too. Learn how our load banks commissioned 100+ wind turbines without grid power.
