A data center location between Europe and North America

Comrent is providing solutions for mission-critical power testing infrastructure.

One major data center operator recently revealed their decision to grow their data center presence internationally in a very strategic location.

Verne Global, which is headquartered in London but has an office located in Virginia, has strategically built a new data center location in Iceland – centrally located between Europe and North America - between two major business hubs in the European Union and the United States.

Iceland’s strategic location, coupled with the renewable energy available there, has made is much easier for Verne to “export the bits and bytes than to export the energy," a Verne global spokesperson said.

The data center industry in Iceland is still very young, but it’s growing, and growing simultaneously with international power consumption which has been estimated at 20 megawatts, compared with 10 megawatts as of April 2014.
